I’m really sorry that I haven’t been updating this blog in the last month! I’ve been super busy and well…there are so many other Hugo blogs out there :O
Junior Bizarre: Hugo
But to be clear, I am speaking to the script alone. I’ll give a nod to the beautiful art direction and costumes, and most of and most of the actors were adorable. Brian Selznick’s book is absolutely stunning, and the tribute to film-making and illusion was clear in both renditions.
But the screenplay for the film was terrible and I’m appalled it was nominated for anything. That’s my opinion and I’m stickin’ to it.
But..But…You just…totally contradicted yourself. You’re saying that it shouldn’t have won the Oscars that it did, but you that said “I’ll give a nod to the beautiful art direction, etc”…And the Oscars that won were FOR Art Direction, Visual Effects, Cinematography, Sound Mixing and Sound Editing…
